European Women - Get to Know Their Culture and Traditions

There is nothing more attractive to European women than a guy who makes a true effort to know more about their culture and traditions. It may seem obvious, but most men interested in international dating know almost nothing about the country and life in the former Soviet Union. Below are a few easy ways to find out more about the home country of your special lady.

1. Learn Russian

Taking time to learn basic phrases and sentences in Russian or Ukrainian is not only endearing, it’s also useful for your own personal growth. It will definitely help you communicate better via chats and emails and will be very helpful when you finally travel to Russia/Ukraine to meet your chosen lady face to face. Even if things don’t work out between you two, you will always have this unique skill which may benefit you later in life.

2. Learn basic history and geography

If you’re dating a European woman, it’s useful to learn the location and landmarks of largest cities and familiarize yourself with the important events that helped shape her country. Special attention should be paid to the district or part of city your sweetheart is from. If you’re unsure of where to begin, browse articles on the internet and on Wikipedia. You don’t have to learn everything about her country, but knowing more than an average American does, will definitely impress your lady and give you a better insight into your partner.

3. Get to know her cultureEuropean Women

One of the best things about being in an international relationship is experiencing new things and getting to know things like traditional foods, holidays, and more. Ask your Eastern European woman how they celebrate major holidays in her country, what type of food she enjoys and what traditions and beliefs are most important to her. You could also go to special Russian or Ukrainian culture events in your neighborhood, browse recipes of traditional food online and read books about European countries.

4. Recognize stereotypes

You should always keep an open mind and not believe the common stereotypes about your lady’s culture and country. Most women will be annoyed and hurt if a man they care about recites unfair stereotypes like true facts. As an example, here is a list of typical, but false stereotypes about Russian women:

1.    Russian ladies on dating sites are gold-diggers who are only interested in money and a green card

2.    Women from Russia are miserable and poor and expect to be saved

3.    All Russian dating sites pay women to chat with foreign men

4.    If a guy spends enough money, he can win the heart of any lady on the online dating website

5.    All Russians are communists

Of course, there are people who symbolize these stereotypes, but it doesn’t mean all women from Europe do. If you’re truly interested in learning more about your sweetheart’s culture and country, don’t let the false stereotypes distract you.

If you are truly interested in the East European girl you’re chatting to, make an effort to learn more about her country and her culture. Studying basic phrases in her language and simple facts about geography, history and culture are a great way to accomplish this. Not only will it benefit you personally, you will also impress your future European wife and what could be better than that?
